This newsletter will be distributed weekly based on the concept of “an easy weekend recap” of the happenings at Astar Network.

A community call is scheduled for May 7th. The main topic appears to be updates on “Yoki Origins,” so it is likely that snapshots and the expected end date will be announced. This is definitely something that “Yoki Origins” users should check out.

Additionally, the gas fees for Astar zkEVM have increased from $0.02 to $0.13, which can be attributed to a decrease in the number of transactions (due to the inability to infinitely mint “Yoki Origins”). This movement clearly illustrates the characteristics of chains using ZKP with Validium, and personally, it has been educational. There is no doubt that the number of transactions is a critical factor in enhancing competitiveness in terms of gas fees when compared to other chains. However, there have been instances where the network became unstable due to too many transactions, so it is necessary to carefully manage and balance this aspect.

Now, let’s review the news for this week.

Yoki Guardians Release

Overview

The game “Yoki Guardians,” inspired by “Yoki Origins,” has been released. It is developed by “AstarGames” and is a shooting game available to users who own NFTs of Yoki Origins. You can play the game using this link.

Opinion

It has finally been released! I tried it out, and it’s addictively fun! The controls are simple, making it accessible for anyone to play. It’s really great to see such efforts to promote “Yoki Origins.” Thank you to the developers at AstarGames!

$NINJA is Thriving

Overview

Here is a roundup of this week’s news related to $NINJA:
- Surpassed $0.09, reaching a new all-time high.
- Staking of $NINJA to start on VeryLongSwap.
- AMA conducted with VLS, Astar, and NinjaDAO.
- NFT airdrop for $NINJA holders.

Opinion

$NINJA, which was listed last week, is really heating up. The activities of Mr. Ikegaya’s NinjaDAO are particularly lively. With the increase in content around $NINJA, the possibility of being listed on CEX seems more realistic. This could be a good case study for meme coin marketing, so I’ll continue to follow the developments.

Casio “G-SHOCK” NFT Giveaway

Overview

CASIO has offered an NFT collection on Yoki Origins. The NFTs available from YoPort will be revealed on May 10th, and select holders will receive a limited edition original G-SHOCK or ASTR tokens.

Opinion

This is an interesting initiative. By setting a specific reveal period, it provides excitement for the users. Also, the possibility of winning something of monetary value can serve as an incentive to mint NFTs, so I expect the minting numbers on YoPort to increase. I’m looking forward to testing this out.

Supra Supports Astar

Overview

Supra, an oracle provider, now supports the Astar Network. A key feature of Supra is its high frequency of data updates. This allows token prices and other data to be reflected in real time, making it easier to develop DeFi.

Opinion

Following last week’s support from the Umbrella Network, many oracles are now supporting Astar. Oracles are services used to obtain external data, and each oracle has its own unique features. Supra, which has now been integrated, has strengths in the DeFi sector. As more oracles become available, developers have better choices, making this good news.

That’s all for this week’s news.

Thank you for reading to the end.
